Nativity Cathedral (Рождественский Собор): R70
Description – The Kremlin is old centre of the town. In olden times its earthworks would have been covered in wooden walls and moats with water. It has been destroyed many times including by the Mongols. It contains the Nativity Cathedral, a World Heritage Site. The cathedral is famous as it was the first to be built in Russia for use by ordinary people. Previously all cathedrals were built for the exclusive use of the royal nobility (Knyaz’).

Pokrovskiy Monastery – Convent of Intercession (Покровский Монастырь)

Description – Founded in 1342. It used to be the richest convent in Russia and was where Russian nobles disposed of unwanted wives. Famous inhabitants were the first wife of Peter the Great and wife of Tsar . During the Soviet era it was turned into an Intourist hotel before reopening as a nunnery in.

Address: 148 Lenina street (Ленина улица 148), close to the Evfimiev Saviour Monastery.
Open hours: Sat-Tue 10:00 – 17:00; Wed and Fri 10:00 – 16:00; every day except for Thursdays.
Wax Museum (Музей восковых фигур)
Address: 10B Kremlevskaya Street (Кремлёвская улица 10В), close to the Suzdal Kremlin.
